What are the learning needs of gifted students?

  1. They have the same learning needs as other students. The big difference is in the speed and depth of what they are able to learn. We still must try to tap every into every modality and differentiate as we would for any other student.

  2. Gifted students may view things in another way. For example, when learning a new math concept, gifted students are more apt to find many different ways to arrive at the same answer, rather than, just using the way that they were taught by the instructor. Gifted students are able to learn with less repetition and with many gifted students, they may already know the concept before it is even addressed in the classroom.
