There is less of a gap for the homeroom teacher to differentiate for. This is especially true for the grade levels where there is also a pullout program in place.
I agree with Tony. When the homeroom teacher is able to differentiate to a larger group, it makes tiering assignments a lot easier. This is particularly true when doing projects for research and writing.
